Homecoming
Eastside Baptist Church will have a Homecoming on April 10 at 11 a.m. Rev. Caves will be the speaker. All are welcome.

Women’s Conference
Community Harvest Worship Center will host a women’s conference April 9, 2016. Speaker: Rhonda Williams, evangelist, pastor and prison ministry. All ladies welcome. Theme: Behind the Mask. Free HIV test
National Youth HIV & AIDS Awareness Day is dedicated to looking at the impact of HIV and AIDS on young people.  One in four new cases of HIV in the U.S. is among people ages 13-24.  Youth today have never known a world without AIDS. In observance of NYHAAD, the Florida Department of Health in Hendry and Glades counties will offer free HIV testing for anyone on Monday, April 11, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at: 1100 Olympia St (Clewiston), 1140 Pratt Blvd (LaBelle) and 1021 Health Park Dr. (Moore Haven). Domestic pig found
The Hendry  County Sheriff’s Office Ag Unit responded to the area of SR 29 South on Sunday, April 3rd and found a domestic pig running loose on the highway. The pig was safely captured and impounded.  If you are missing a domestic pig, please contact the Ag Unit at 863-674-5600.

Library moves preschool story time
Pre-School Story Time at the library has been moved to a new day, Monday. The event will still begin at 10:30 a.m., just on a different day. There will be a new, fun, learning activity for your preschool children every week.  For further information or any questions, call 863-675-0833. Be a Friend of the Library
The first meeting of The Friends of the LaBelle Library will be held April 5 at the Library in LaBelle at 5:30 p.m..

This is a non profit organization under the umbrella of the Library.  Its goal and sole function is to raise funds and do good things for the community through the library.  Come join and find out all the good ideas we have had presented to make our community a great place to live and raise children.  Your ideas and active participation are welcomed.

Yearly dues are: individual $10.00, couples $15.00, small business memberships are $50.00 yearly and corporations and organizations $125.00 per year.

100% of all funds raised will go back into the Library for our community as all board positions are voluntary.  Call Linda Corbitt at 863 990-8077 for more information or send your membership dues to the Library made out to “The Friends of  LaBelle Library.”  Dues are tax deductible and meetings are only once every three months.  Put it on your calendar!

GOP meeting April 11
The Republican Party of Hendry County will be meeting at LaBelle City Hall, 481 W. Hickpochee Ave, LaBelle, FL on April 11, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.

Mission for hope fundraiser
Pulled Pork & All the Fixin’s:  The Community Mission for Hope is sponsoring a fund raising dinner on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Ortona Community Building, 2086 Ortona Locks Road (Highway 78A).

The eat-in or carry- out menu consists of delicious pulled pork, potato salad, baked beans, rolls and home- made desserts, all for donations of $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Funds raised at this charitable event support medical mission work to aid women and children in the northern mountain region of Haiti.

STA 5/6 (Stormwater Treatment Area 5)
Walk or bicycle on over 20 miles of levee roads at SFWMD’s STA 5/6 (Stormwater Treatment Area 5/6) during daylight hours four days each week on Friday, Saturday, Sunday (except for fall/winter hunting), and Monday.

This popular site known for bird watching, wildlife viewing, photography, hiking, or bicycling is located 28 miles south of Clewiston.  Park at the STA 5/6 public access area which is 2 ½ miles east of the CR 835 and Deer Fence Canal Road intersection. Watch for the directional signs on CR 835. Amenities at STA 5/6 include 2 shelters and dry vault toilets.
