By Focusing on the good, more good is attracted to you

As we move along the path of learning more and more how to shift our thoughts and frame them in a way that we are focusing on the positive, exercising gratitude, leaning away from the thoughts that keep us stuck in our fear based limited thinking and playing small, and we begin to see our life experience in a way of empowerment and joy, and we start attracting the things that we desire more and more into our circumstance we inevitably will come across an opportunity to apply these principles we’ve been learning to the subject of money. I can almost sense the momentum that was building in you as you read that sentence. You were feeling incredible weren’t you? You’ve been a reader of my articles long enough that you’ve begun to feel an energetic shift in the way you’re framing your thoughts. You’ve begun to see that when you shift your thoughts in a way that you’re focusing on the good, more good is attracted to you. You’ve begun to feel empowered by this shift in the way that you’re approaching your life. Yet, when I threw that word “money” into the mix it stopped you dead in your tracks.

The subject of money brings up a lot of fear based beliefs in many people; fear that there isn’t ever enough, fear that the bills won’t get paid, fear that the vacations can’t be affordable, fear that we won’t be able to provide the life for ourselves, our children, or our families that we desire to provide.

The truth is that currency, just like everything in our lives, is energy. Money is a spiritual and energetic entity just as our own energy is. If you don’t believe me just look at the principles around money that has been taught in spiritual institutions for centuries. The concept of tithing is based on this principle. What you give you get.

The problem that we face when we try to apply this principle to our money is the we get so caught up in the fear based belief in scarcity and lack that we don’t let ourselves energetically shift to a more empowering perspective of abundance and love around our money.

My teacher, Gabby Bernstein, says that when we respect our money our money respects us.

What does that mean?

Just as when we do the work to protect our own energy through self love and self care, and we focus on using our energy to create good in our lives, in the lives of those around us, and eventually the world, our energy begins to be increased and empowering; we begin to experience shifts in our energy to a more joyful and happy experience.

When we apply the same process to the energy around money and focus on using our money for good for ourselves, for those around us, and eventually the world, we will begin to see a shift in our experience with money. The work we must do is to be able to see money in the same way we see our time, or our priorities. We can approach the subject of money in a way that we begin to shift from a lack or scarcity belief system to a more abundant vantage point. Within every area of our life, what we give we get back, and the same universal law applies to money as well.

We’ve all been taught this in phrases and concepts such as “pay it forward”. We have all heard or even experienced the return on our “random acts of kindness”. That’s a really great place to start if the concept of money brings up a lot of fear. I suggest you try it out in a small way to test the waters here! Try paying for the coffee of the person behind you in line, or try tithing ten percent to whatever spiritual or altruistic cause resonates with you, or try investing in something that you know will deepen your personal development journey. When we can start to change the way we view money and see it for what it is, another form of energy that we can use for good in the world and be a good steward of our money, then our experience with money will begin to change.
