People often ask me what they can do to up their happiness level in their jobs, relationships, and all areas of life.
While there are many factors in our lives that contribute to how we view the world around us the one thing that we can do, immediately, to begin to bring more happiness into our lives is to develop a practice of gratitude. As we express even the smallest amount of gratitude for what we have or for what is going right for us, we set our frequency and point of attraction for more circumstances to be grateful for.
Gratitude is the one thing that can amp up your happiness level more than anything else.
This week try these simple exercises to get serious about your gratitude game and watch how much happier you’ll feel this time next week.
When you wake up, even before you get out of bed, say ‘thank you’. Give thanks for the fact that you woke up for another day. Give thanks for the bed that you’re waking in. Give thanks for the roof over your head. Give thanks for the ones you love. Give thanks for the ones who love you in return. Give thanks for everything you can think of to be grateful for.
As you begin to give thanks, you’ll begin to see more and more things to be grateful for.
At the end of the evening, just before bed, write down in a little journal or notebook your favorite moment from the day. What brought you happiness that day? By the end of the week you’ll have notes on a week full of happiness that you can express gratitude for!
