Flag Day – The anniversary of the Flag Resolution of 1777 was officially established by the Proclamation of President Woodrow Wilson in 1916. In 1949, President Truman signed an Act of Congress designating June 14th of each year as National Flag Day. When a flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be destroyed by burning in a dignified manner.

The American Legion Post 130, LaBelle, will conduct a dignified flag burning ceremony, on Flag Day, Wednesday, June 14 at 6:30 p.m. Come between 5-7 for a Baked Ziti Dinner for $6, followed by the Flag Retirement Ceremony at 6:30 p.m.

Bring your worn, tattered flags to the Legion anytime before or during the ceremony.

The Public is welcome, come support the American Tradition. Karaoke begins in the lounge at 7 p.m.
