LaBelle High School is proud to announce the Class of 2017 Valedictorian Anamaria Mata Preciado and Salutatorian Austin Cooper Kennedy.
Valedictorian Anamaria Mata Preciado is the daughter of Maria and Enrique Mata. Anamaria is graduating with honors, Summa Cum Laude, which requires a 4.0 and higher grade point average. Anamaria’s GPA is 4.9+. Her many accomplishments include being a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, and participating on the varsity tennis team. She also served as President of Future Business Leaders of America for two years. Anamaria has challenged herself by taking many honors and Advanced Placement courses. She has completed 144 hours of community service and is eligible for the Florida Medallion Scholars award given by Bright Futures. In the fall, Anamaria will attend the University of Florida to prepare for a career in Business Marketing.
Salutatorian Austin Cooper Kennedy is the son of Leslie Giraldo and Sam Kennedy. Cooper is graduating with honors, Summa Cum Laude. His GPA is 4.8+. He has taken a variety of honors and college courses in order to prepare for his future plans. Cooper has played varsity tennis for four years and has participated in the FGCU fishing club. He has completed 103 hours of community service and is eligible for the Florida Academic Scholars award given by Bright Futures. In the fall, Cooper will attend Florida Gulf Coast University where he will major in Business.
LaBelle High School would like to invite family, friends, and the community to the Class of 2017’s baccalaureate and graduation ceremonies. Baccalaureate will be on tonight Thursday. May 18 at 7 p.m. in the LHS auditorium. Graduation will be Saturday, May 20 at 8 a.m. at the LHS Football Stadium.
