Boys Golf closes season

The LaBelle High School Boys Golf Team finished the season with a flury. They won two tournaments, had a Champion Crowned and placed a golfer in Regional.

The golfers reclaimed the Hendry/Glades Championship on October 12 and Jason Mathis led the team and won the Individual Honor of Hendry/Glades Champion shooting a 45. Clewiston had won the tournament the last two years. By winning this year the Cowboys are now leading the overall series 4 to 3. The team finished 7 and 3 for the season.

The team members are Jason Mathis, Zach Tanner, Zach Price, Josh Miller, Lane Merchant, Downing George, CJ Siner and Kia Watson.

The team had a respectable showing in districts and Zach Tanner will be representing the Cowboys at Regional after shooting a 93. He gets to play The Quarry in Naples on Oct 24.

The team was still not done, representing the Cowboys in Clewiston at the first Masonic Lodge Scramble on Saturday, Oct 21, they won the High School Division. Jason Mathis, Zach Tanner, and Zach Price played for the Cowboys and started a new tradition of winning this tournament for the team.

The boys would like to take this time to thank the Administration, Athletic Director Chris Siner, Teachers and Coaches Ron Dunbar and Kevin Holland, and the people at the Glades Golf Course for supporting them and allowing them to take time off from classes to attend their matches. Most of all a big Thank You to the parents for their support and help this season
